Jamie Davidson, Co-Founder of AMZ Insiders and Clarity6.ai, captured the essence of the event with a simple yet powerful statement: “AI is now.”

Davidson highlighted the immediacy and necessity of integrating AI into Amazon businesses and emphasized that while the fundamentals of running an Amazon business remain the same, AI is revolutionizing how sellers approach everything from listing optimization to customer engagement.

“The data you have on your customers is indicative of the worth of your business,” Davidson said, underscoring the value of leveraging AI to enhance customer insights and drive sales.

Davidson also introduced attendees to a suite of AI tools designed to streamline key aspects of Amazon selling.

  • Optimizing Listings with AI: Tools like Flair.ai for product photoshoots, Ecomtent.ai for infographics and product images, and Listify.ai for generating product benefits and keyword strategies were showcased as essential assets for sellers looking to optimize their listings and increase conversion rates. 
  • Using Insert Cards: Capture customer information through insert cards, and use AI to create engaging e-books and automated social media content.
  • AI Tools for Ad Automation: Platforms like Plai.io enable running and automating ads, significantly reducing costs and allowing more frequent A/B testing.

These AI-driven solutions allow sellers to create high-quality content without the need for costly designers, making it easier to stay competitive on Amazon.

2. AI-Powered Strategies for Amazon Success

Victor Rosenman, CEO & Founder of Feedvisor, delved into the broader implications of AI, particularly its role in enhancing productivity and reducing costs.

He discussed the advancements in machine learning (ML) and AI, particularly in analyzing large volumes of data in real-time.

“AI substantially increases productivity and reduces costs,” Rosenman explained, pointing to applications like customer service automation, inventory management, listing optimization, and dynamic pricing as prime examples of AI’s transformative power.

For instance, AI tools can help improve customer service and optimize inventory management by predicting stock needs and automating responses.

Use AI for Dynamic Pricing

Rosenman introduced the concept of reinforcement learning (RL), where AI learns to make decisions through trial and error, adapting its actions based on outcomes. This approach, he explained, enables AI systems to become more autonomous and efficient, offering a significant edge to sellers who implement these technologies.

The ability to dynamically adjust pricing strategies based on real-time data, for example, can lead to optimized sales and margins, providing a competitive advantage in the crowded Amazon marketplace.

3. Custom AI Solutions for Enhanced Customer Experience

Perry Belcher, aka “The Billion Dollar Man” and Co-Founder of DigitalMarketer, took the ASGTG 2024 stage to explore the impact of custom GPTs (General Purpose Technology) on customer experience.

He explained, “AI is just a brain – a mechanical functioning brain. It can’t actually do anything. Difference – AI can learn far more information that we can as humans. It can obtain an infinite amount of knowledge, which it then becomes trained on,” highlighting its vast learning capabilities.

Custom GPTs are specialized AI models designed to address particular business needs or challenges. They function as “brains” that can learn and execute tasks, from generating product descriptions to optimizing marketing campaigns. These AI models can be customized to fit the unique requirements of your Amazon business, allowing you to automate tasks that traditionally required human intervention.

Custom GPTs can generate product descriptions, listing titles, and A+ content based on the data you provide. Within the ChatGPT interface, you can explore a variety of GPTs by navigating to the “Explore GPTs” section. Here, you can browse through different AI models designed for various tasks and business challenges.

Some GPTs are pre-configured for specific functions, while others can be customized to meet your particular needs. For instance, a GPT trained on successful Amazon listings can help you craft compelling descriptions that drive conversions.

Creating and Configuring Your Own GPT

Creating a custom GPT involves a simple yet powerful process, according to Belcher:

Step 1: Define the Task

  • Start by asking another GPT within the ChatGPT environment to help you create a custom model. For instance, if you want a GPT to generate marketing copy for your Amazon listings, you would instruct the GPT to focus on this task.

Step 2: Natural Language Stream

  • Describe what you want the GPT to do in plain language. The AI will use this description to configure itself according to your requirements.

Step 3: Create and Configure

  • Once you've defined the task, the AI will help you create and configure your custom GPT. This might involve training the GPT on specific data, such as your product catalog or customer reviews, to ensure it generates relevant and accurate content.

Belcher mentioned the idea of creating “the world’s best hot sauce bot” as an illustrative example. A seller specializing in hot sauces could train a GPT to generate engaging product descriptions, suggest complementary products, or even create personalized marketing emails.

Belcher also highlighted the importance of using other AI tools in conjunction with custom GPTs to create a comprehensive business strategy:

  • Scribe.com: This platform allows you to upload PDF documents that the GPT can use as training material. For example, you could train a GPT on your company’s brand guidelines or past successful campaigns.
  • Botpress: An all-in-one AI platform that enables you to manage and deploy your GPTs efficiently. This tool can help integrate your custom GPTs into various business processes, such as automating customer service or managing your inventory.

Aside from ChatGPT, Belcher showcased various AI-powered tools that Amazon sellers can use to create more personalized and effective marketing strategies.

  • Perplexity.ai for real-time data and research enhancement.
  • Claude.ai for comprehensive writing and problem-solving.
  • MidJourney for concept art and product design.
  • Gemini.ai for multimodal tasks like “explain it to me with pictures” prompts.
  • Ideogram.ai for logo design, posters and marketing materials, and social media graphics.
  • Eleven Labs for realistic text-to-speech and AI-generated voice/audio. 
  • D-iD + HeyGen for creating lifelike avatars, demonstrating how these technologies can humanize AI interactions and create deeper connections with customers.

Overall, custom GPTs represent a significant leap forward in how Amazon sellers can leverage AI to streamline operations, improve customer experience, and drive sales. By understanding how to explore, create, and configure these AI models, sellers can gain a competitive edge, automating tasks that previously required significant time and resources.

As Belcher put it, “AI makes our businesses smarter and our strategies sharper.” Embracing custom GPTs will not only enhance your Amazon business today but also position you for success in the increasingly AI-driven future of e-commerce.

4. Using AI for Product Launches

Using AI for product launches, especially by extracting insights from reviews, can significantly enhance the success of a new product on platforms like Amazon. One tool that Ritz recommends is voc.ai, which allows you to tap into customer feedback and refine your offerings based on real-time data.

Extracting Insights from Reviews

voc.ai scans through customer reviews across various platforms, collecting data on what buyers are saying about products similar to yours. This AI tool can identify common themes, pain points, and praises, giving sellers a clear picture of what customers like and dislike.

Analyzing Feedback

Once the data is collected, the AI organizes it into actionable insights. For instance, if multiple customers mention that a product;s packaging is difficult to open, or that a feature is particularly useful, these points are highlighted. The AI can also categorize feedback based on sentiment, showing you whether the majority of comments are positive, negative, or neutral.

Making Product Adjustments

Armed with these insights, you can make informed decisions on how to adjust your product before launching it.

According to Ritz, it helps to ask yourself, “Based on the insights and feedback, what product changes would you make?” 

For example, if reviews indicate that customers want a more durable version of a product, you can focus on enhancing the product’s materials. If there's a demand for additional features or improved functionality, these can be incorporated into the final product.

Ritz emphasizes that this process not only helps in refining the product but also positions it to meet customer expectations more precisely. Aligning the product with the needs and desires expressed in reviews can help you to increase your chances of a successful launch and higher customer satisfaction.
