360-Degree Product Image Feature Ends Soon

1/16/2025

As of January 20, 2025, the 360-degree image feature on product detail pages will no longer be available. This change follows the earlier discontinuation of new 360-degree image uploads in December 2023.

Sellers are encouraged to use 3D models as an alternative for enhanced shopping experiences. Options such as "View in 3D," "View in Your Room," and "Virtual Try-on" provide similar functionalities to the 360-degree feature.

To start using 3D models in your listings, visit the Upload 3D Models page. For more information about 3D shopping tools and compatible product types, check the 3D Shopping Experience Guide.

New Packaging Rules for Sharp Products Begin April 2025

1/15/2025

Starting April 14, 2025, Amazon FBA sellers must package all sharp products in hardened plastic or blister packs before sending them to fulfillment centers, as Amazon will no longer provide prep services for these items. Read the new Amazon FBA Packaging Requirements to learn about compliance and how to prepare your business for these changes.

Updated Amazon Product Title Requirements

1/9/2025

Beginning January 21, 2025, Amazon will enforce stricter product title guidelines across all categories to improve listing clarity and enhance the customer experience. Sellers should review and adjust listings now to avoid compliance issues.

Prime-Exclusive Discounts Integrated into Price Discounts Tool

12/23/2024

Amazon has streamlined the process of managing discounts by merging Prime-exclusive discounts into the Price Discounts tool. Starting January 7, 2025, the Prime Exclusive Discounts tool will no longer be available in Seller Central.

The enhanced Price Discounts tool now supports both Prime-exclusive and all-customer promotions. Sellers can search their catalog to add items to discounts, manage promotions across regions, and access performance metrics—all from one place. Notably, there is no change in how Prime-exclusive discounts are displayed to customers.

Existing discounts created in the Prime Exclusive Discounts tool will remain active until their scheduled end dates. However, any new discounts created in this tool cannot extend beyond December 31, 2024. From January 1, 2025, the tool will no longer allow the creation of new discounts.

To create a price discount:

  1. Navigate to Advertising and select Price Discounts.
  2. Click Create a Price Discount.
  3. Fill out the form, selecting Prime customers as the Audience type for Prime-exclusive promotions.

By default, account primary users have access to the Price Discounts tool. To grant access to secondary users, primary users must enable permissions through Global User Permissions.

Visit the Price Discounts help page for more guidance.

New Swiss VAT Rules for E-commerce Sales Begin January 2025

12/16/2024

Starting January 1, 2025, new Value Added Tax (VAT) regulations from the Swiss tax authority will affect e-commerce sales to customers in Switzerland. Below are the key details:

  • VAT Collection and Remittance:
    • Swiss VAT will be applied to orders delivered to addresses in Switzerland, including the Principality of Liechtenstein and the German municipality of Büsingen.
    • Amazon will collect and remit the VAT directly to the Swiss tax authorities, regardless of the seller’s VAT registration status.
  • Shipments Affected:
    • These rules apply to both shipments imported into Switzerland and domestic deliveries within the country.
  • Shipping Procedures:
    • For FBA shipments, Amazon will handle the import VAT and duty clearance, requiring no additional action from sellers.
    • For seller-fulfilled shipments, sellers must provide Amazon’s import information to their carrier for customs declarations.

Updates to the Amazon Services Europe Business Solutions Agreement Coming January 2025

12/16/2024

Effective January 1, 2025, Amazon will implement changes to the Amazon Services Europe Business Solutions Agreement and related program policies. Below are the key updates:

  1. Insurance (Clause 8) and Commercial Liability Insurance Policy:
    • Sellers are no longer required to list Amazon and its assignees as additional insured parties on their insurance policies.
    • The Commercial Liability Insurance Program Policy will be updated to reflect this change.
    • Sellers will now be responsible for notifying Amazon if their commercial liability insurance is canceled, modified, or not renewed—this responsibility will no longer fall on the insurance provider.
  2. Tax Matters (Clause 9):
    • Amazon will continue to issue invoices electronically. Invoices will be provided in a format and delivery method of Amazon’s choosing, such as PDFs.
  3. Amazon Ads:
    • Customers using Amazon Ads will need to accept electronic invoices in a format determined by Amazon, including PDFs, provided this complies with local laws.

Visit the Changes to program policies for additional details.

These updates are important for sellers and advertisers to review to ensure compliance with the new requirements starting in 2025.

New Return Rate and Star Rating Metrics Added to Voice of the Customer

12/13/2024

Amazon has upgraded the Voice of the Customer dashboard with two new metrics—Return Rate and Star Rating—to provide sellers with deeper insights into customer satisfaction. These updates aim to help sellers track performance, identify challenges, and take action to improve their listings effectively.

Key features include:

  • Return Rate: This metric highlights the percentage of products returned within the last 12 months. Sellers can quickly identify which ASINs have the highest return rates, making it easier to address potential issues and improve product performance.
  • Star Rating: The dashboard now displays your product ratings as seen on Amazon product pages. This consolidated view allows you to assess overall customer feedback and focus on areas for improvement.

access the Voice of the Customer dashboard to review and optimize your listings using these tools.
